I just cannot believe I use to have pink hair! I gotta say, as much as I miss it, the one thing I do not miss is the price tag involved with it. In my dream world, there would be no problem with getting jobs while having pink hair....but....I don't live in a dream world, so I've had to change hair color to fit according to what ever environment I was put in. If I was lucky enough to have the chance to have pink hair...I ran straight to "Sally's" and picked up some pink dye. Sadly after school ended for the semester last May, it was time to find a summer job....thus meaning the pink had to go :(
.....And some how 5 months after that dye job, I ended up with this random light colored hair and an obscene amount of split ends due to the damaging process that occurs with excessive hair dying :/
It may not seem to bad in the picture, but my poor hair was basically in a state that I could no longer cheaply tame it on my own. Hair brushing became a nightmare! Not only did I have hair shedding every where, it also freaking hurt when I tried to brush it! The longer I avoided getting my hair fixed, the worse I knew it was getting.
So enough was enough, I found this girl at my church named Shelly, who is a hair stylist, and asked her if there was any hope for the mess on the top of my head...and her answered resulted in me making an appointment with her last Saturday to a place called "Flirt"!
"Flirt" Salon in Carytown!
Cute sign!
Here is a list of things they offer!
Now you know you all who read these little posts of mine know I am a very honest chick, right? Well I got to say I was super super nervous about going through with this hair over-haul. She Even though I felt confident my stylists hands, and I really did need this fixed...I liked that I finally had long hair after 7 long years of moving out of my scene[ior] hair of high school, and the idea of having it cut concerned me as to how short that would be...
The infamous "scene" hair I sported during my senior year of high school back in 2007.
Though I was super nervous, I shared with her this feeling, and she talked me through EVERYTHING she felt would work best for me, BEFORE she started doing anything! Readers, hear this, NEVER go in to a hair salon unless you know what you want! In case you didn't know, hair stylists are not psychic...they will have no clue what you want unless you tell them. If you don't know what you want...do some research.
After a couple of minuets discussing the battle plans, she went straight to work.
Mentally preparing myself for change.
Waiting for my hair to dry so I can get my second color done.
I've been foiled again!
Shelly adding some last finishing touches.
Before After
If you are feeling like it's time to change your hairstyle, I would seriously encourage you to try Flirt. Sure I may have already known Shelly before hand; however, I overheard other clients enjoy their experience with their stylists as well! That place certainly has great talent within its walls!
