A Grade that has me Down[town] and Out

As most of you all know I am currently taking an introduction to photography course this semester, but what you may not know is that the class is obscenely difficult!  Though I am slowly starting to figure my way around this crazy contraption most people call a DSLR camera, I'm still having a hard time trying to capture what my assignment is asking for.  Oh, and if I  may  add, it does not help that the professor is extremely rough on his critiquing.....

That being said, not a single person received a descent score on their first shooting assignment, which was crazy seeing how their pics were really good!  Needless to say I didn't even remotely come close to doing as "well" as the others. Upon seeing all the low scores though, my professor did allow us to retake any pictures in order to boost our grade.   Now, as great as that sounds in theory, that's still didn't help me much since I was clueless as to how do the assignment.  Thankfully one of my classmates, Felicia (who not only is a photographer, but also knows how to use a Nikon DSLR)  asked if I wanted join her on an outing to downtown RVA to take some grade boosting pictures....And of course I said yes!

Before starting on our school work, we first took some time out for lunch at Carytown Burger and Fries.  That was probably the greatest burger I've had in awhile!

Then, we headed down to my favorite place in Richmond...Hollywood Cemetery!
 Working on close up shots

 Learning how to use bracketing
My first portrait shot using Felicia as my model.
Not a bad picture of me (Felicia's lovely work)

Now...I wonder what my grade is now???
